Remember and Understand Tools I use the following tools to help students to remember and understand concepts in Unit 3&4 Chemistry. There are also some general skill quizzes that are useful in Unit 1&2 Chemistry.

AOS Summary Sheets The entire key knowledge descriptors for one area of study summarised on one A3 sheet. This usually takes 2 – 3 lessons to complete one sheet so it could be worth using this after you teach each section of the course.

Response to stimuli questions These questions were used as a SAC in 2019. I will be using this task as a revision task for AOS2 in 2020.

AOS3 Practical investigation

  • This year students selected from three research groups: 1) Catalase, 2) Bioplastics and 3) Lowering GI of starch. They completed the foundation experiments which are included at the end of the attached document and then selected a research group. All students then designed individual research questions.

AOS3 Practical Investigation updated 2020

Updated TopUpTools These tools summarise Chemistry concepts onto one A4 page. I have also included TopUpTools of Biology, Physics and Psychology for evaluating data.

    Hello!
I attended the STAV session you ran this year (2018) and I loved your skills sessions.
Have you done any more – for Unit 4, for example?
Also, I was really excited about My Task Analylsis – any news on that front?
    Thanks!
